South Island Robin
SA, JH, KT and I headed to the Nina Valley track, at the start of the Lewis Pass today to photograph forest birds. We came across lots of Robins, some Riflemen, Bellbird and Tomtits. I only managed to photograph the Robins, as the others were too quick or to high. After walking for a few hours we headed back and on the way back to Christchurch went to the Ashley River where we were able to photograph Pied Stilts, Banded Dotterel, Godwits, Shags, Caspian Terns, Grey Teal, Kingfisher, Variable Oystercatchers and lots more.
It was a long and wonderful outdoorsy day.
