After the storm

The wind was so noisy last night that it kept us awake until the small hours. Two fence panels have come down right at the back of our garden behind the garages, which meant that Russet would be able to saunter into a neighbour's garden and so into the village!  So a temporary panel has been put up and our local tree surgeon will be back soon to repair the fence!
The bird feeder station had been blown over again! However, as soon as it had been righted and feeders re-filled, the birds were back in force!
The robin is looking perky after his wild night! Long-tailed tits, chaffinches, , blue tits, great tits, and coal tits, sparrows and the woodpecker were seemingly very hungry this morning!
It was good to have a walk in the (very) fresh air. A little later than usual, we met different people, including a man who is making determined progress after a hip replacement, and the owner of a pair of delightful black cocker spaniels - Bramble and Holly. The sun shone and the sky was blue!
This afternoon it was back to playing bowls after the Christmas break! It was a good session, with ten of us enjoying a light hearted game!
