'Afternoon Delight'
At long last I have redeemed the lovely gift my two daughters gave me last February as a 'Special' Birthday present. I've had a blissful afternoon at The Lion Quays Spa, near Oswestry.
The 'Afternoon Delight' package consisted of an hour's treatment of your choice, entry to all the Spa's amenities and a complimentary Afternoon Tea. The hydrotherapy pool was awesome (here) and very invigorating with all it's various strengths of jets reaching all those achy(?) (parts which hurt) joints, followed by shower hot to cold, followed by an even more invigorating back and neck massage to try to straighten out all my Secretary's tight shoulder muscles, followed by a 25min RELAXING facial, followed by a lie down in the 'dark' relaxing room - I could have stayed in there for ever; the reclining couch which you lie on and surround yourself with a huge fluffy blanket in total peace and quiet was scrumptious and just sooooo relaxing .... (something I find very hard to do as I seem to be always on the go) - I think I fell asleep but not for long as I was woken by the sound of someone's mobile alarm going off - so peace was shattered and I was up and on to the next thing ...... the complimentary afternoon tea. Then back to reality and the 35 mile journey home. Weather not too bad though as the snow which we had this morning didn't stay for long but there was plenty to be seen on the hills all around!.
What a splendid afternoon I've had, just wish my lovely daughters could have shared it with me.
