Happy Birthday Sharon

It's my friend Gruffalo's 50th birthday today

We are going to her party this evening so I'm doing an early wave until then

I first met Sharon in 1970 when we moved next door to her family

so she was 8 and I was 13...the age gap meant we weren't close friends
then I went off to University and we only saw each other in passing

in 1983 our daughters were born and gradually we saw more of each other

In the last three years in the midst of personal traumas for both of us however we have found so much we have in common...from curries to Shakespeare barely a week goes by without contact
