When I was in the Cemetery last Friday I went past the left hand building in this collage.

In 1818 a turnpike road was built to divert traffic out of the cluttered town centre making it quicker to go from Walsall in the East to Wolverhampton in the West.

Then I realised I had no idea about the other "toll house"

So I researched again and discovered I passed it regularly and didn't know. The map point is this one.

The distance between them (as clocked in my car today) is 700 yards by comparison the M6 Toll road which is less than 10 miles from this is 27 miles long
