Kapaleeshwarar temple, Mylapore, Chennai
today i spent 4.5 hours inside a cramped lab and came out with 2 prints! -two-. how the people here get any work done is a mystery. as soon as one has the attention of someone, his phone rings, two other people clamour for his attention and his eyes start to wiggle...and off he is.
again one manages to zoom into his sphere of reality only to be bumped out again by one of the other assistants, several old ladies wanting their portrait taken, the manager who comes in and asks things, the fact that it now is lunch time....and OFF AGAIN!!
i don't know what to do...go back there? he did finally came up with two prints and, actually, stayed, between those endless interruptions, with me for all those hours. sort of.
the printing machines are very good. i need those prints...well....
then we drove to Mylapore and straight to the temple. and there...is....peace!! what relief! the Hindu temples are marvelous, very relaxed, happy places-- with cows and calves on the premises and sometimes goats..and as, certainly in the temple, everyone is vegetarian those lovely beasts are safe!!
whole families come, eat and drink and chat, make their phone calls, or sit and be in peace.
