Enjoying the snow

A view from my kitchen window.  I found it quite amusing to see these starlings sitting on the telephone wire which runs alongside our house.  It was snowing quite heavily at the time and they stayed there for about 15 minutes even though they could have sheltered in the nearby trees.  Perhaps it is a novelty for them and they quite enjoyed it.   We had about 4cm of snow, which then turned to slush before more snow fell.  I hope it doesn't freeze overnight or the streets will be treacherous.
