Balloon Street

I walk along this street every day on my way to work and have never noticed the plaque describing the history of the street name. A colleague at work mentioned the plaque today so I took a look on my way home.

" From a garden on this site, James Sadler, pioneer English aeronaut, made the first manned balloon ascent in Manchester. 12th May 1975"
