The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance

To the Cornerhouse, to watch the film "Birdman (the Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)" - an absorbing tale of actors pretending to be people and of people acting-out their lives.  It was presented as though shot almost as a single, uncut take (although I spotted a few joins and the action spread over several days.) Buster Michael Keaton was terrific as the central character. The sub-title of the film is obscure until just before the end when all becomes clear.

The Cornerhouse is due to close later in the year, when its new, bigger, brighter, newer location opens nearby. Lots of people will miss the old place. It currently occupies two buildings on adjacent corners - the one shown in this Blip is just a cinema whereas the main building has galleries, two more small (literally underground) cinemas, a shop, bars and cafes.
