Banks Peninsula Track first night

The Banks Peninsula Track is 36km long, and can be walked in either two or four days. It starts and finishes in Akaroa.

The track passes by remote outer bays of Banks Peninsula. There are stunning coastal views, waterfalls, bush, seal colonies and penguins.

There is accommodation provided in converted farm houses along the way.

Our first night was spent at Onuku, from where there are lovely views across Akaroa Harbour, especially when the sun shines through the toi tois as it is setting.

Tomorrow will be our first day of walking.
