Banks Peninsula Track first walking day

The first of two walking days covers 19km, starting at Onuku and finishing at Stony Bay.

We started early this morning because the weather was forecast to be hot, and the first part is a steep climb above Onuku to this point in the photo.  

There are glorious views of Akaroa Harbour, and a tourist ship can be seen anchored, with visitors soon to be ferried to the wharf in smaller vessels.
