Happy families

It was a great day at work. I worked hard and my urgent matter got done to the extent it could and everyone seems happy. I was horrified at the terrible events continuing in France today, especially that it had hit Picardy for a while, an area I know well and it's so far from the 'war on terror' that it's literally incredible. And those poor hostages. What a shocking and game changing week. The French now have to sit up and integrate their immigrants better, though of course that is not the whole picture. My fear is that the far right will have a field day though and they could end up with an FN president if people aren't careful. Worrying times...

When I got home it was to a clean and full house as the Aussies were back. They'd had a great week with super weather in Somerset and Gloucester. Apparently Stonehenge was the best bit. That surprised me. I didn't think this bunch of screen loving boys would find a load of old stones interesting!

While the kids did their thing in the sitting room, the kitchen filled up with the adults as I was cooking and it was a joyful household especially as P, P and P joined us too. A bottle of Prosecco was drunk and I even had a glass!

The prawn curry went down well with most, though little W decided all he'd eat were the poppadoms and chapatis. Eh well, you can't please all of the people, though I did manage to please a veggie and a dairy free bod. It was a lovely evening around the dining table and the last with brother C and his family for another year or so :(

P is expecting to find out about her Cambridge application tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed for her.

I forgot to take any photos before bed but was sent one of Tilly in one of her milk comas today so I've taken a photo of that photo and it's my blipfoto for today. Cheating? Kind of. It was a poor iPhone job so I've run it through the app that applies the finish of old masters to 'improve' it somewhat. This is apparently Leonardo's Mona Lisa, which I thought was quite appropriate for this enigmatic young lady.

Lastly, I'm pleased to say that carefully logging my food during the day today actually modified my intake, without really trying and without me feeling as though I've missed out. One small step.
