Watching the river flow by

Went into Kingston with the intention of getting a few snaps of the swans but they really didn't do anything for me today. It maybe because the flock there are so habituated to humans that they have become bread junkies along with the pigeons, cross-bred ducks and Canada geese - not at all the behaviour one expects from the "Queens Birds" :-)Also when I got back I saw quite a few far better swan shots had already been posted today!

Fortunately this young black-headed gull was sitting there quietly removed from the crowd and displaying far more poise and class!
