Cedar Hill Cemetery: Robert Farnsworth

From my seasonal rental, it is a short walk up the hill to the back side of Cedar Hill Cemetery, one of the local old time burial spots. Cemeteries draw my interest, and this one is no exception. Lots of local founding names: Pinkston, Hall, Kanipe, Manning… or here, Robert Farnsworth. I kept thinking, these people used to walk these hills too; they farmed and ranched and logged these hills, just like the people here do now. They bought groceries, and educated, and worshipped in this community. The sun came up across the Cascades and set across the Coast Range Mountains. Winters were wet, and snowy; summers were hot. It was life then, like now. Maybe it's what the Talking Heads wrote about: "Same as it Ever Was."
