Sun and darkness
I had to go to Leblon (the other side of Ipanema from Copacabana) today to collect some dog things I bought from someone who's leaving. I seldom venture out in the afternoons, let alone by car, and today served to remind me why not. Ugh - traffic. Still, no other inspiration having presented itself, at least it gave me a chance to wind down the window and get a shot of Ipanema beach.
I'm still finding it strange not to have any work to do - I keep having to fight back feelings of guilt. Of course, there are all sorts of administrative and household chores I should be doing, but I haven't worked out the mind-set yet. Next thing I know, I'll be going to the beach (but over my dermatologist's dead body).
I hadn't hear about the Paris attack until I read admirer's blip. What a tragic manifestation of brutal, mindless religious intolerance and hatred. And then to think of the huge scale of the violence being perpetrated by IS, the thousands of Yazigi men killed, and women and girls sold as slaves. The world is growing dark.
