Old-fashioned Lamp

This lamp is beside the bed in our Paris apartment, which we reached today after an easy journey on the Eurostar train from London.  After our active few days in London I found myself rather exhausted and coming down with a cold.  So I did not venture out, which explains this convenience blip.

The apartment belonged to the mother of the owners until her death about five years ago, after which we have been able to rent it every winter (the owners live in Avignon). So some of the furnishing are from a previous era.
