The war memorial, Gileston Cross, St.Athan.

This war memorial was built in 1920 to commemorate those who died in the first world war and latterly those who died in the second world war. It is built from Portland stone ashlar and consists of a  square pillar topped by a finial ball  which is mounted on a three stepped square base
