American Beauty Moment

I worked hard this morning - card inventory sorted, card finances sorted now it's time to find some thrilling new images to add the the old faithfuls.
We had to go into Bantry again and decided do the shoreline walk. You can do the quick route. Or the long route. We did the long route which was almost foolish as the tide was coming in fairly quickly and there is no exact path just rocks. It was fantastic though, the light ever changing, beachcombing satisfying, lots of wading birds to be identified and a seal  popped up to have a look at us. The day was deemed lovely  by everyone we met and more interesting coversations were to be had - weather (gales forecast for tonight) ; the selfishness of rubbish dumpers (someone had left a huge pile of plaster board right on the beach); the Vikings (they'd landed near here) and the complexities of a fort lurking in the undergrowth, the remains of which had been recycled by Lord Bantry to build his stately pile. We had to avail of a cuppa and a macaroon at Organico before heading home.

Son#2 and partner are on their way. Son#2 has an appalling sense of direction so I am trusting Simone's is better. He thought they were going to Gatwick, it turns out they're on the coach to Heathrow wherupon they fly off to Bejing, two hours there then on to Sydney, twelve hours there, then on to Christchurch - arriving either thursday or friday, he was a bit vague about that! However, he is on the ball when it comes to cameras and an arsenal of photographic equipment has been packed - lens, filters, memory cards, batteries. Hope he has time to do the odd blip.

All that scenery and today's image - well, can you work out what is? I had an Amercian Beauty paper bag moment. One of my favourite films ever, and this sequence is extraordinary. My bag was floating in the water though, like a mini iceberg.
