Look Who dropped into Town!

Who would have thought that 'Poppy' newly flown in from Orkney would bring sunshine to a dismal, rainy, early morning Edinburgh, but lo and behold she did, and not just the smiley welcome but the actual reality sunshine. Quite a transformation of weather.

Because her airport bus took far longer to arrive at Waverley than expected, we had to cram a lot of blether into 35 minutes before her train south left.

For her it was a bitter sweet visit to the city, being as she was, en route to her father's funeral. For me it was lovely to see her even for that short time.
His Lordship sent her his best wishes from behind his Door and she sent him a tiny knitted plum pudding hat for a Ferrero Rocher chocolate.

Having seen her safely onto the train, there was food shopping to be attended to, before leaving shortly for a walk in the sunshine and relative mildness to see my friend of many talents and put the world to rights with her this afternoon.
Friends are a bonus in life.
