Great Grandad

After a wee bit of treat TV in our hotel room bed, we had an impressive hotel breakfast. Continental and full cooked on offer, though Katie wasnt up for much really. We then packed up and headed to my Grandad's house. Katie had a great time playing with my wee cousin's dolls and grinning away at her Great Grandad. She hasnt seen him since we made the trip this time last year, but she is always so excited to see him and his wife. Late morning we all went off to a nice family pub for lunch, where we met my uncles, their wives and their children (who are all Katie's age). We had a scrummy, very leisurely meal. I think my grandad and Mavis really enjoyed having all their small grandchildren and their greatgranddaughter all together. They were laughing, playing and having a glorious time. A couple of hours later we went to the large fun factory for them to charge around for a couple more hours. Playing with boyish boys took a bit of getting used to for Katie but before too long, her great grandad and uncle were throwing her in the ball pool with the best of them. It was a really special time. We set off for home around 430, which is normally not a great time for journeys with Katie, but she did brilliantly. She ate a huge amount, sang a while and was a happy bunny. We stopped after a couple hours, put her jammies on, gave her a picnic tea and she zonked in the car. A crazy round trip but really special.
