RNLB Inchcape
6.4C and after a cloudy start, sunny. Zephyr.
Apothecary7's day off. We went through to Arbroath mid morning and had a wander round the harbour with Maeve the Deerhound. As we were walking out towards the fish market (where the shellfish is landed nowadays) I noticed the lifeboat come in through the harbour entrance.
A few people gathered to see the manoeuvres as the boat slowly turned and positioned itself to be hauled backwards up the slipway into the lifeboat shed. As soon as the boat was stable on the slipway buckets were passed up to the crew and the job of keeping the vessel spick and span began even before it was returned to its launch position in the shed.
