Stockiemuir
A beautiful sunny and still winter afternoon saw me heading for one of my favourite short climbs up Auchineden Hill. It provides vast open vitas to the north over the moor. And as you reach the brow of the hill, Loch Lomond and the Arrochar Alps come into view to the west.
The path had traces of ice and was wet and slippy in parts, so I walked on the grass rather than the trail in some places. This was the first time I've ever seen the car park full and there was a bit of manouvering to find a space. This shot captures the low winter sunlight across Stockiemuir with the snowcapped bens of the southern Highlands in the distance.
