Queens
2015 is going to hold a lot of travel for me so our first stop in Manhattan was B&H Photo, the photography superstore. I was able to get a very nice camera bag and lightweight travel tripod. My current tripod is carbon, but it only reduces to about 2 ft and I was worried about the TSA giving me a hard time. I travel only with carry-on luggage if going for two weeks or less, so I don't relish being at the mercy of a TSA official's arbitrary interpretation of the rules. The travel tripod is also carbon, but it reduces to 12 inches and will fit inside any carry-on bag.
It was a bitter cold day, so I only managed a few shots in early evening after urging my husband to brave the cold with me for a trip to the East River, just a few blocks away. This is not a very interesting skyline. Unfortunately when you are standing in Manhattan, you can't get a good shot of the Manhattan skyline. This is Long Island City in Queens. I thought the water reflections looked nice.
I hope to get caught up with comments and viewing after we return home this weekend. Until then, I am only able to do sporadic viewing.
