Fondue for 2... make that 3
Tonight, as a treat for us- as we're now not going on our anniversary dinner because Mar still isn't well enough; i made chocolate fondue with fruit.
This fondue business was pretty amazing stuff for Harper who was still up. (note- follow the pics left to right, top to bottom)
He was curious that i presented a large plate of fruit on the table, he decided to take a piece of orange- well why not?
'mama has put fruit here, i'll eat it.'
But being the lovely sharing baby he is, he had to give dadda a piece too.
'here dad, here's some orange for you too i'll even help you by putting it in your mouth'
But then, he stopped, he watched.
'hang on! dadda is using that stick thing to put the fruit in his mouth'
He even attempted- with success, to copy his dadda.
'would you look at that? i can put a piece of banana on a stick thing just like dad, interesting.'
Of course, must share.
'here dadda, i put a banana on a stick thing, let me help you, you can have mine, open up!'
Then, came the most interesting part- the discovery of the chocolate in the middle.
'whats that stuff mama and dadda are putting their fruit in? i'll put my stick in and try it- wow this stuff is good'
Which led to....
' i dont know why they are eating the fruit when this liquidy sweet stuff is here, its so good, i might just take it and try to eat that all instead'
And so our fondue journey ended
' mama, dadda; this was lots of fun, really yummy, lets do it again!. What do you mean i've got food on my face and in my hair?'
Watching him through the steps of discovering, watching, imitating was amazing and it made me happy i could capture it. Hes developing into such a wee boy with a strong personality.
Mar is getting better slowly, he is still very very tired and spent all day today and the past 2 days in bed or on the couch. I'm juicing a lot of fresh fruit and veg to get nutrients that will assist his body to heal and recover and expel toxins- lots of kale, beets, carrots, apples etc. His appetite is here and there so i figured he loves vege juice and this way i can get goodness into him without him having to eat.
It was such a beautiful day, i managed to get out this afternoon with much thanks to my father in law for coming to sit with mar while i popped to the park where the rest of my family were enjoying the sun and pool.
Earlier in the day when Andre and the boys had gone out and mar was on the couch, i did a little weeding in the garden- i found some odd weeds, then i realized as i was pulling them out that they had a seed attached, until i looked closer- they were different colours!.
A few weeks back when i did coloured corn kernels sensory activity i swept some hat had fallen out into the garden, from the watering and rain they had sprouted and put down roots!
