A Good Way to Start the Year

We've had a female Anna's hummingbird at our feeder off and on the past few days, but today this male appeared as well! I don't know if they're "a couple," and how they've survived the recent frigid temperatures is a mystery, but in any case, they're a delight to see. 

I spent several hours today on the phone, unusual for me, enjoying long conversations with my niece in North Carolina and my son in Seattle. We don't talk often, but when we do, time flies by!

I'm going to make a concerted effort over the next few days to catch up here...
