Going Nuts On Silvester

Silvester is what New Year's Eve/Hogmanay is called here and it all goes a bit mad here.

Fireworks are being let off everywhere.  Only the loud ones at the moment.

At midnight the whole city is lit up with fireworks for, usually, an hour.  And then there are the pockets of idiots who like to start again at 3 in the morning.

And tomorrow morning, the whole place looks like a garbage dump.  Rubbish everywhere.

But we'll enjoy our last New Year from the terrace.  An evening of Raclette and a few glasses of this and that and a glass of Sparkles at midnight.

The Blip is a foto of a painting by Albrecht Dürer and I think I need to find out more about Herr Dürer.

Ich wünsche Euch einen guten Rutsch ins Neue Jahr.  Which is "I wish you (plural, dative) a Happy New Year".
