North by Northwest......

.......the long drive north was better in Kamping Kasper than the Fiat 500 with plentiful room to store the bottles of whisky, crates of beer and the bag of crisps required to sustain us through a week in the remote north. Sparky provided his usual donation of a wee smelly shite in his travel cage before we'd crossed the bridge and Owen remained wired into various electronic devices when he wasn't gagging at Sparky's best efforts.

By Perth, the landscape turned white with snow and ice and, aside from flashes of green and brown around Lochbroom, we didn't see plant life again until the Assynt coastline.

Our lovely neighbour Mairi had set the fire in the house and so we're unpacking, enjoying the warmth of a glowing coal fire and I'm supping on a cool, hoppy ale. We'll be asleep by 8pm.
