The arrow angel
Our Elsa is helping behind the scenes with props and costumes at the Winterville Panto in Victoria Park. She's there for two shows nearly every day until new year when the whole Winterville circus packs up and leaves town.
As a bonus she's also been given a little part in the panto, as the arrow angel who magically appears on stage to hand deliver arrows to their target in slow motion styley, complete with the Chariots of Fire soundtrack to accompany her. We went to see her perform yesterday. She and it were great. I think the actors delivered a great professional performance (of Robin Hood) in quite tricky circumstances - namely a draughty spiegeltent full of little kids with a short attention span and the constant noise of a fairground as a backdrop.
I'm very proud of her - I couldn't have worked with a company of adult actors at her age - I would've been too timid. She's a lucky girl too - such a great experience. It's given her independence and a sense of being grown up - which, given that she's a teenager, is what she wants more than anything else in the world I think :-)
