Pickering Castle
Woke up to a covering of snow. This melted very quickly and was replaced with overcast cold conditions.
A local walk with Jet down Wells walk and into the woods North of the castle. As we emerged the sun put in an appearance and produced the best light of the day.
This is Mill Tower constructed under the orders of Edward II in 1323 concerned about a Scottish invasion. The hard bedrock at the base meant it was difficult to undermine. This later acted as a prison.
