The Frick's Endangered Garden
I visited the Frick Collection late this morning, before we headed back to Northampton. It's a marvelous small museum, in Henry Clay Frick's house on Central Park in Manhattan, exhibiting his collection.
The administration of the museum have decided they need more room and have published plans to expand. The expansion would destroy this garden area, which is next to the gallery's entrance; that and other aspects of the plans have caused a huge outcry in opposition.
Although normal links aren't working on the site, here's one to a recent article which will bring you up to date: http://www.wsj.com/articles/flak-over-the-frick-collections-expansion-plans-1418335367
Another aspect of the site's problems is that the tag "Frick Collection" is run together when I publish the blip.
