Road to nowhere

Brief stop on the way in this morning.
This lane is quite long but a dead end. I have a copy of an old map that shows it as a through road but some time in the last 100 years it has become blocked - no idea why.

Re-blipped the same image. This processed in CS5 and PhotoEfex Pro.
