On the canal
Had a lovely walking day today with the girls' group. Took the train to Croy, then walked up Barr Hill, along part of the Antonine Way, which dates from 140AD. There is also the remains of a Roman Fort, which was interesting. From there we walked down the hill to Twechar and returned along the Forth and Clyde Canal to Auchinstarry. We had a lovely long hour in the pub there, lots of banter, and then walked back to the station at Croy and home again.
Weather was good, we had one little shower, nothing much, and sunshine most of the way. The canal bank is full of wild flowers, and lots of interest, I swithered between this picture of a heron and one of a swan on its nest, but the heron won. Just missed a picture of it flying off, which I regret.
Now have the children for dinner, and overnight, as Gary is down in Birmingham.
Its all go!
