wonder what it was like inside...

It`s amazing what you see when you look up! Walking out of the KFC yesterday and I saw this beautiful building. I managed to find out about it in a book in Waterstones so I went back today to blip it

This `electric theatre` was the first cinema to be built in Leicester in August 1910. The auditorium seated 700 and they served tea & biscuits to the patrons during the showings...imagine that now!!
It remained a cinema for many years before seeing out it`s days as a rollerskating rink.

Sadly it`s seeing out the rest of it`s days next to Habitat, being used for storage.
I think it`s a wonderful reminder though of days gone by
