First of many?

Blue banded bees, that is. Hopefully there will be more and hopefully you won't get too bored of them... I know you can't really tell that it is a BBB from this shot, but I rather liked the angle and the fact that the wings are still and not just a fuzzy blur, as they usually are. You can see the veins nicely. My buddleia is out and in the absence of butterflies (where are they?? All in South Australia I think!) only bees and bee flies are making for it. Nicer larger.
Oh, and I got a piece of paper in the post today informing me that I am now divorced. My Christmas present. Having a Guinness to celebrate.
