Since going away for university, dentist appointments have been a feature of my Christmas holidays at home. I'm always impressed by their creative decorations, I imagine they help distract many of the children who walk through that door with the jingling bell.

Sadly (and there's a word I thought I would never use in this context!) today was my last appointment with this particular dentist. Since my mid-teens he has patiently walked me along a long journey of overcoming dental fears; going from someone who once felt physically ill at the thought of appointments to someone who can sit in the waiting room almost entirely jitter-free. But I have long over-stayed what would be the typical community/school clinic welcome and so it's time to find myself an Edinburgh dentist. After all this time it's great to feel like this particular journey has come to an end. I still can't stand having impressions done though!!

It has since been a lovely family day; trip to Oswestry with my parents and now enjoying a film night with Daniel. It is wonderful to be home!
