The wanderer has returned!
Friday
This is our daughter, Laura, who has been serving with the Peace Corps in Macedonia since September 2012. Her service was finished in mid-November, and since then she has been trekking in Nepal. She actually arrived home last night, but I didn't get a picture of her then - she wasn't feeling or looking her best after a long day's traveling! We knew her flight out of Kathmandu was going to be delayed by three to four hours due to weather conditions, which meant she would miss her connection in Istanbul. There was a later flight, so we hoped she would get on that, which fortunately is what happened. So she landed about 10pm instead of 5 pm, and by the time she had her baggage and we had driven home, it was around midnight.
Today, she and Roger were up in Paris, as she had an interview for a course she was hoping to take in the New Year - Teaching English as a foreign language.- so Roger went with her to show her the ropes on the train and metro. Her interview was fine, and she is definitely accepted on the course starting in March, but she is hoping there might be a cancellation on the January course. Meanwhile, I spent the day at home doing laundry and packing, ready for our departure for the UK tomorrow. In the evening we took her to our local pizza restaurant, where we had a very enjoyable meal - we have been there a few times now, and the staff recognize us and are very friendly!
