Wiseman's....

.... the end of an era. This little shop closed today after 88 years of business. It was a treasure trove. You could buy anything in here from wellies to bird food, paint to gardening gloves, magazines to fairy lights, clothes pegs to nails, compost to fishing tackle, and the sunday papers. But times are hard and they've been struggling and decided enough is enough. Sad to see them go.

Not a glimmer of light here for the Solstice. Wall to wall grey, rain and wind. We've been very slothful but did venture out for mulled wine and mince pies at our friends. Son#1 is cooking tonight and the men are having salmon and sweet potato chips. I'm having the veg and a baked potato.

Sorry for the lack of comments but you know how it is at this time of year. Happy Solstice, and the days are now getting lighter- official.
