A Vision of Christmas Past
Dear Diary,
After my post on Christmas trees I thought it would be fitting to have a photograph of the aforementioned "tinsel tree". This is about 1961 I think and mom is in her usual red plaid bathrobe. It is Christmas morning and I can still feel the excitement.
Seems like we did a fair job tinseling the tree but we missed quite a few places toward the bottom! Patience isn't a child's strongest suit. The tree always stood in this place but as we grew up, it got smaller and smaller until it was just a tiny table top tree.
But in these days, back when Christmas still had the aura of magic about it, it was such a glorious sight on Christmas morning when we finally got the "go ahead" to hurry down the stairs. Whenever I see a tree like this the memories of those wonderful Christmases past come flooding back in. I think it is time to drag out the dvd of "It's a Wonderful Life"!
Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree. In the eyes of your children they are always 30 feet tall.
