Green Shoots - Field Beans

Another busy day. Made lentil and vegetable soup and a large pan of pasta sauce. This afternoon I finally baked the Christmas cake(s) and made pizza with some of the pasta sauce.

Had a wander around the garden and was pleasantly surprised to see that the field beans sown about a month ago are about an inch tall and looking very healthy. They will stay under the protection of a lace curtain as the weather is supposed to get really cold. I grew field beans for the first time last year, they overwintered well and I picked lots for the pot.

MrD was busy spray painting some panels he's bought to cover the back windows on his van.
