Making Pathways

That's what today has been about, making pathways! Rachel mowed a pathway through the orchard, which is full of wild flowers. I worked with my friend and neighbour in the woodland, this involved me going ahead and marking any patches of wild flowers, then he strimmed a path avoiding the flowers, then I raked up and used the mulch around the trees. The woods in my blip are about sixteen years old and their canopy is shading out the briars, however in the areas of newly planted trees, the briars are very vigorous and need to be cleared around the young trees until they get established, left alone they can quickly smother small trees. I love this work, it is really satisfying. The pathways enable access through through the land and help me keep in touch with whats happening in all the different habitats!
Mama dog appears in a number of my homey blips, that's because she is always just there, never in the way, just close by keeping an eye on me, not letting me out of her sight, she really is rather special and has made it through another winter, which makes her eighteen or nineteen years old! I think she is looking quite old here, bless her!!
