Avalanche!

Well, sort of...

Over the last two days the trees were coated with thick sticky snow, creating the prettiest lacy effect.  This typically happens overnight and is gone by mid-day.  But, the conditions were perfect for the lace to remain in place for nearly two days... It's been just beautiful.  Though, those perfect conditions included cold temps and thick clouds, the white all around made it seem brighter than it really was.

Then, the sun broke through the clouds.  And fortunately, I had my camera in hand and happened to be looking in the right direction.  It was well below freezing, there was no wind, but as the sun hit the top of those snow covered branches... little 'avalanches' spontaneously occurred!  It was quite magical to see the falling snow sparkle in the sun!

Note:  This portrait layout is hard to view here... But actually works really well in large, as it gets properly resized (at least on my computer).  That's a nice improvement for our new Blip! :)

Wowzers... My little tufted-titmouse was all a flutter over all that attention it got yesterday!  Thank you.
