Not at all like a pub - when it's dark...

The doors between the sitting room and the hall have (to my eyes at least) the sort of etched glass that wouldn't look out of place in the saloon bar of a pub.

But the Christmas tree lights distort and confuse the pattern, throwing shadows that are random and unrecognisable. I still don't like the glass in the daylight but the shadows at night do look rather fetching.
