And there was, at 9pm just like the website had said. It danced & played in full technicolour in all different shapes & sizes to an attentive crowd also of all different shapes & sizes :)

Now it is common practice (or so I've been lead to believe) for Town Halls to be places of serious governance.  They are frequented by people in suits with brief cases who drink short blacks because they have no time to drink coffees with milk. They often contain large quantities of files or at least reams of paper placed strategically in filing cabinets (the buildings not the people in suits although sometimes I do wonder..) They are places where everything must be completed 3 times and where people say things like "I'll have my people talk to your people asap" & both people's people will form a committee! 

Indeed, Town Halls are very serious places! ....

Accept maybe here in Melbourne where it's used for concerts & the International comedy festival & where at Christmas time, it plays host to a gingerbread city & serves as a canvas for a spectacular & very, very non serious light show that is designed with the sole purpose of making all of the people of Melbourne smile!  

Nice work Melbourne Town Hall, the coffee is on us ...  you can even have a latte :)
