'Pretty' Creepy

I'm not as squeamish as others when it comes to little creatures~I find spiders very fascinating, as long as they don't touch me. I have my limits. But, I like to watch them. This guy(gal?) I found down in the middle of a calla lily. Made its way up to the edge then must have seen me, all 10,000 of me and my camera right on top of him as he went immediately into fight mode! Front legs stretched up and out and I could see those little tiny fangs just waiting for me to come closer. At this point I was hoping and praying that it wasn't a jumping spider. Ack...if I would have seen him jump at me through the lens...it could have been quite the scene, if someone was watching. But, no jumping. Just sat there and let me snap a few shots. Good thing as I was shooting hand held. I really need to take the time to get my tripod and remote shutter release out. I'm too impatient, I guess.

It was a Monday. Woke up to cloudy skies and it was freezing! Well, ok, probably not freezing but it was darn cold. I hit the snooze button many times. I just didn't want to come out of my cocoon. I did the right thing and jumped out of bed and went to work snuggled down deeper and took the morning off :) awwww....it felt good to extend my Mothers Day day off just a little longer!
