Happy Mother's Day!

No. I didn't get a peacock for Mother's Day! LOL Would be kind of cool to have one but they can be loud. And, just what I need, something else to take care of :)

Had a very wonderful day today! It was, again, absolutely gorgeous out. So happy it stayed all weekend! I got up this morning and thought I would take flowers to one of our employees at work to leave before she got there. She is having quite a time lately and thought it might cheer her up. She has a "birth female" who torments her and tells her she hates her. This 'mom' is an alcoholic and drug freak so she is just plain sick but that doesn't excuse the hurt I see in this girls face. She has a son that she doesn't allow around his grandmother which has caused more problems. The boy has a father who has teamed up with the sick mother to try and get the boy taken away from his mother. It is really a terrible situation. My heart breaks for her and the little boy. He just turned 6 and Glenn and I have kind of 'adopted' him as surrogate grandparents. I just pray everyday that things will all work out for them! Anyway, not to bring bummer to this lovely day!....I left the flowers, came home and swam then Glenn and I took off for a way overdue day drive!! Hit hwy101 and headed south. Neither of us have been south of Port Orford. Our plan was to drive to the border(that would be the Oregon/California border) but, once we reached Port Orford the fog had come in. So, we decided that the border will have to happen another SUNNIER day! We went to a Wild Animal Park. We had taken our kids there when they were little. They got to hold baby Bengal tigers and feed them bottles. At that time it was kind of cool. This time??? I hated it. The animals are in little enclosed areas. I'm talking tigers, lions, many other big cats, monkeys, chimps etc...it really upset me. I finally told Glenn I had to go. I have gotten so sensitive to animals plights as I've gotten older. Guess that's why I went vegetarian a year ago.

Anyway, I did get some shots of the peacocks! There were tons of them running around. They aren't as colorful from behind but they are still pretty darn cool!!!!

In case you are wondering why I didn't mention my Mom, I lost her to cancer 8-1/2 years ago. Glenns Mother passed away a few years ago. So, we no longer have them here with us on earth but firmly believe they are happy in heaven. :)

All in all we had a wonderful day. Talked to my three kids, got many happy texts and facebook messages and spent a nice day with my hubby. I hope all you Mother's out there had a super day also!! :)

Happy Sunday!
