The New Pornographers

Went to see the Canadian band The New Pornographers tonight, at the Corner Hotel. Incidentally, the name has nothing to do with what you think! They supposedly called themselves that, after an American TV Evangelist commented that pop music was "the new pornography".

The show was great, and the venue tiny...so it was a rare chance to see a great band in an intimate setting. I took a couple of pics (a bit blurry due to no flash) ? but you can see how close the stage was to the crowd!

Next on the live music agenda is Alicia Keys at the Rod Laver Arena (home of the Australian Tennis Open)....somehow I think I won?t be quite as close to the action as this! ;-)
