My Day, My Life

Blinded By The Light

Well, we arrived in Darlington around about tea time.

When I say around about, I mean just after!

They stopped serving meals at our accommodation 30 minutes before we checked in.

So a taxi trip back into town (we are staying out by the airport) in search of a place to eat.

After literally walking round the block, we all agreed on an Indian restaurant.
The waiters looked very pleased to see us, perhaps that was something to do with it being devoid of diners.

That aside, the staff were courteous, the food tasty and the company, good.

We retired to a local 'hostelry', to sample some of their 'fine ales'. I had a pint of Amstel but struggled to finish it. I think it was more the fact that I was stuffed with food than anything else but if truth be told, I'd rather have a cup of tea or coffee instead.

Then it was time to head back to the base, that's what it is too, a WW2 Airbase.

Here's me thinking I was in the company of hardened drinkers but all they wanted to do was get to their beds!

lightweights!

The training starts tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it.

Phoned My Girl & Mrs blip so I could hear their voices. Would've used 'FaceTime' but I need to wait until morning so I can get the access code for the wifi.

It was good to speak to them :)

My Girl is totally hyper about her birthday this Wednesday!

But then, who wouldn't be :)
