'Beach Abstract'
A day exploring some of the beaches on Lewis after spending much of the previous week on Harris.
This was taken at 'Cliff Beach' near Bhaltos. I arrived to clear blue waters and a perfect beach - no footprints to be seen. A fairly small enclosed beach, it has some rocks at the north end which made for some interesting shapes with the water receding around them, but I prefer this very simple, almost abstract, image.
Went round the corner to 'Reef Beach' afterwards. Much bigger, but found it hard to take photos of. Very flat sand with little by way of sand patterns. Very bizarre to see some locals playing golf behind the dunes, moving sheep out of the way before taking their shots.
Popped out after supper to see if I could get some evening shots of the other Callanish standing stones (took the main site on Wednesday)... Just as the light was getting nice the rain came in - think it may be set to last...
