Rotherhithe

I had a surprise email from an old Australian friend today. I spoke to her mid afternoon, half way though sending yesterdays job.

She told me she was staying in Rotherhithe and although we arranged to meet for lunch tomorrow found myself thinking... "mmm... Rotherhithe, I haven't been there since the '80's. Must check it out"

So check it out I did after I'd finished work.

It had changed a lot since I last saw it, having lost most of its Dickensian feel and gained a monstrous American style "enthertainment' centre called Surrey Quays.

That apart, the river walk was almost as interesting as Wapping including some remnants of the old Docks.

I don't know the purpose of this tooth-like metal mooring, but the waves crashing against it made for interesting textures and patterns in the setting sun.
