Crinan Basin
We drove along to the Crinan end of the Crinan canal this morning, and after a first class bacon roll in the coffee shop (Maeve the Deerhound was allowed inside too, but I wouldn't tell anyone!) we had a walk along the canal bank for a mile or so then wandered back to Crinan so we could look around and spot a blip or two.
This is the Crinan basin, where boats wait (often overnight or longer if they wish) before passing out through the sea lock into Loch Crinan for their onward journey. I am very fond of the little lighthouse, which has featured in a painting or two in the past. I even made a painting of it on location one time :-)
